Charter

Name and Organization. The name of this Club is Pet Lovers Club, (the Club). It is a component of Ocean Hills Social Clubs (the Corporation), a non-profit mutual benefit corporation of the State of California (Federal Tax Identification #33-0383009).

Membership. Membership in the Club is restricted to Residents of Ocean Hills Country Club subject only to the payment of dues set by the Club’s Board of Directors.

Function and Purpose. The Club shall assist the Corporation in serving the community of Ocean Hills Country Club. Specifically, the purpose of the Club will be: to provide community socialization, support and safety for our pets and their owners. We will work in cooperation with other animal groups such as the Humane Society, Canine Companions, Love on a Leash and PAWS to benefit companion animals. The aim of the OHCC Pet Lovers Club is the furtherance of all issues protecting pets.

Funds. The Club shall abide by the limitations on funds and assets prescribed by the Corporation and/or Ocean Hills Country Club Homeowners Association (the Association).

Capital Expenditures. Purchase of property or equipment that costs in excess of $1,000.00 shall be reported to the Association, and all property so acquired shall be the property of the Association.

Reports and Returns. The Club shall make such reports of its assets, liabilities, receipts, and disbursements, and such other data pertaining to its operations, as are prescribed by the Corporation; it shall assist the Corporation’s accountants and auditors in the submission of data for tax returns and financial reports; and it shall remit to the Corporation any taxes that may become payable by reason of its activities and its pro rata share as determined by the Corporation of expenses incurred in the preparation and processing of the foregoing.

Salaries or Compensation. Officers and directors are volunteers dedicating their services and skills to the interests of the community and the furtherance of the purposes of the Club. No salary or compensation shall be paid to any Club member for any service rendered to his/her Club.

Bylaws. Subject to the provisions of this Charter and the Rules and Regulations of the Association, the Club shall adopt Bylaws for the governance of its affairs. Such Bylaws shall be filed with the Corporation and become effective upon approval of the Corporation.
